       Gia leaves modeling the first time

        Gia makes a come-back and is
        interviewed for ABC's 20/20
        in April (show didn't air until
        January of 1983 however)

1982:
       Gia does her last cover shot with
       Francesco Scavullo signaling the
       beginning of the end of her
       modeling career

1983:
       Gia leaves NYC in January for
       the second and final time

1985:
        Gia checks into Eagleville Hospital
        for drug rehabilitation

1986:
        MId-year, Gia's suspicions are
        confirmed when tests show she is
        H-I-V positive

1986:
        Gia succumbs to the virus
